Holy Crap, that was a first week!

Whew! Well that was quite an exciting week. Despite not having enough staff, beer, food, or a working reservation system, we managed to get through our first week and mostly everyone seemed happy. Apologies to anyone that didn't have an awesome time, but we had quite a few more visitors than we ever expected and got somewhat....overwhelmed. :-)

Saturday was the best/worst. Understaffed and fully booked, I found myself working the kitchen, which meant no one on the floor to make sure reservations were being fulfilled. Ugh! Disaster, since many of the walk-ins were still on tables when it was time for scheduled visits. Fortunately, we were able to move a few tables around and make room for everyone that contacted us beforehand. Then, between Saturday and Sunday, we made adjustments to how we handled reservations to make sure all tables were clearly marked beforehand. So by Sunday, the problem was mostly solved.

That said, today is Monday, which gives us a bit of a breather to re-assess our inventory and work schedule -as well as finish up a few last minute adjustments in the space. Now that we have a better idea of what to expect, we think next week will go much more smoothly. For anyone interested, here are a few choice pictures from the week!
